Like Expectation

In this world we have built so many conventions and presumptions around us that, want it or not, we all expect. They say; the less you expect the happier you are. But easy said than done.

This poem here talks about that confusion. That yes! expectations do burn its own stick and eroded its own edges, but you still demand, you still expect, out of obvious societal arrangements. For example; you do expect your husband to love you, your children to respect you or may be the government should do its job nicely. But, a slight situation of disagreement and crash goes the expectation and brings in the unsatisfaction which leads to unhappiness. On the other hand, the more expectations get fulfilled, the more it pushed you towards it. So, the scenario continues. ‘Expectation fulfilled is a step towards it, and those not leaves you ajar.’
