Shades of Hay
Hay, is a very simple lean and thin kind of stuff. Just one straw of hay, means nothing. When it is rooted to the ground, we call it grain fields. But when the grains are separated from the straw; all what is left is a dry lifeless thing that is used as animal food. When the wind pass through a grain field it makes a whistling sound. Whereas a single hay straw gets blown away with it.
A simple thought of doing something in a group change so much. Together as one, can even withstand a storm, but a single ‘I’ can just blow away with the wind. A simple message this poem gives is that of the power of togetherness. Opinions differ with perspective, but still it is a team that matters
